At On Purpose Chiropractic in downtown Los Gatos, we focus on corrective care and spinal alignment to help your body heal naturally. Led by Dr. Adam Kleinberg, who brings over 25 years of experience, we look beyond symptoms to find the underlying cause of your discomfort.

New Patients

Do I need a referral?

In most cases, no. You can call us directly at (408) 354-8044 to schedule your consultation.

What happens on my first visit?

Your first appointment includes a detailed consultation with Dr. Kleinberg, a physical examination, and usually full-spine digital X-rays in our on-site suite to assess your spinal health. Your second visit is your Report of Findings where we review your exam and X-ray findings and have a personally tailored care plan for your care.

What should I bring?

Please fill out the health record forms before you arrive. It is also helpful to share any relevant health history, including past surgeries or family history, so we can fully understand your unique case. We also ask you to bring any insurance cards to verify what your reimbursement will likely be.

What to Expect During Your Report of Findings

The Report of Findings is arguably the most important visit in your journey at On Purpose Chiropractic. This is where the detective work from your first appointment is revealed, and a roadmap for your health is created. After Dr. Kleinberg has carefully analyzed your physical exam results and your full-spine digital X-rays, you will sit down together for a dedicated review session.

See Your Spine in Detail:

Dr. Kleinberg will walk you through your X-rays on a high-resolution screen. You’ll see exactly where your alignment is optimal and where “subluxations” (misalignments) may be interfering with your nervous system.

We don’t just treat the pain; we explain the cause. You’ll learn how specific spinal shifts relate to the symptoms you’re experiencing, whether it’s migraines, lower back pain, or low energy.

A Personalized Plan of Action

You will receive a customized care plan tailored to your body’s specific needs. Dr. Kleinberg will outline how many visits are needed to stabilize your spine and how long the corrective phase will take.

Transparent Pricing:

We believe in “no surprises.” During this visit, we will discuss the cost of your care, your insurance coverage, and our affordable payment options so you can focus entirely on getting well.

Your First Adjustment:

In most cases, once the plan is agreed upon and all your questions are answered, you will receive your first corrective adjustment during this visit to begin the healing.

Chiropractic Care & Techniques

What is a chiropractic adjustment?

It is a precise, controlled force applied to a “locked up” or misaligned joint. This helps restore proper motion, reduces nerve interference, and supports your body’s natural healing ability.

What techniques does Dr. Kleinberg use?

He uses a variety of methods tailored to each patient, including hands-on manual adjustments, drop table techniques, upper cervical work, and gentle handheld instruments for specific cases.

Does it hurt?

Adjustments are generally painless. You might hear a “popping” sound, which is simply gas being released from the joint—it is completely harmless and often brings immediate relief.

Do you offer prenatal care?

Yes. Dr. Kleinberg is certified in the Webster Technique, a specialized method that helps balance the pelvis and relieve uterine tension during pregnancy.

Can athletes benefit?

Absolutely. We take a global approach to sports chiropractic, focusing on correcting misalignments to improve brain-body connection, enhance performance, and prevent injuries.

Do you treat disc injuries?

We utilize a targeted, computer-controlled Spinal Decompression table designed for patients with disc injuries or advanced spinal degeneration.

Clinical & Health Concerns

Can chiropractic care help with more than just back pain?

Yes. Because the nervous system controls every organ and tissue in the body, addressing spinal misalignments can lead to unexpected improvements in energy, sleep, allergies, organic issues and overall mood.

Is chiropractic safe for seniors with bone density issues?

Absolutely. Dr. Kleinberg adapts his methods for seniors, using techniques that respect bone density and comfort, such as gentle handheld instruments instead of manual force.

What if I’ve already had back surgery?

Many patients find relief with chiropractic care after surgery. We focus on the areas above and below the surgical site to ensure the rest of your spine remains mobile and healthy.

How do I know if I have a ”pinched nerve”?

Symptoms like numbness, tingling, or shooting pain (sciatica) often indicate nerve interference. Sometimes symptoms are very mild. We use full-spine digital X-rays to see exactly where pressure may be occurring before starting care.

Long-Term Wellness Philosophy

Will I have to keep coming for the rest of my life?

You are always in charge of your care. Initial plans are corrective with a clear beginning and end. However, many Los Gatos patients choose monthly ”wellness” visits because they love how they feel after an adjustment.

Can I adjust myself by ”cracking” my own neck or back?

No. While you may hear a ”pop,” this is an unspecific release of gas. A chiropractic adjustment is a precise, high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust that targets a specific joint to restore proper motion.

Why do you recommend frequent visits when beginning care?

Just like braces for teeth, retuning a spine requires frequent repetition in the beginning to ”train” the muscles and ligaments to hold the new, correct position.

Office & Safety Protocols

Are your X-rays safe?

We use digital X-rays in our on-site suite, which provide high-resolution images with significantly less radiation than traditional film.

What is your cancellation policy?

We value your time and maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the busy lives of our patients. We simply ask for as much notice as possible so we can offer that time to someone else in need.

Do you offer family plans?

Yes, we are a family-focused practice. We often check and adjust multiple generations, from newborns to grandparents, during the same visit block.
